The Spitfire Design team is Mark Sawyer and Johanna Roper.
Mark has some 20+ years in the Aviation Design Industry. With his engineering training started in the air force, Mark completed an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering at Canterbury University before working in both the military and commercial aviation arenas. That background has driven the exacting skills and standards that he applies to all his designs. As all the designs are created by Mark and manufactured in Christchurch, each design can be customized to your needs or you can work with Mark & Johanna to create a unique piece of outdoor art just for you. In his spare time Mark enjoys tinkering with “fast” cars.

Johanna is a Scientist by training but a creative by nature, who loves having design input in to Mark’s latest creations. Johanna provides the graphic design for artworks and is also the administrative part of the team handling customer inquiries, landscape architect liaison, photography, website admin, accounting and marketing. When not busy with Spitfire Design, she enjoys photography, travel, 50s fashion, listening to 80s music, and baking.
